Wilmington is situated between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean where residents can enjoy a paddle boat ride along the river or spend the day strolling the nearby beautiful white sand beaches of Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach. Wilmington, NC is also the home of the USCGC Diligence as well as the USS North Carolina Battleship memorial located just across the river from the downtown riverfront. You may also enjoy a tour of the EUE Screen Gems studio which opened in 1984 and is the largest domestic television and production studio outside of California and home to the third largest sound-stage in the US and features the largest special effects water tank in North America. Located nearby is the Wilmington International Airport (ILM) which is serviced by US Airways and Delta.
